Sonya Ghori is a Pakistani-American Writer and Creative Director based in Los Angeles, California. With nearly 15 years of experience, Sonya has worked both in-house and on the agency-side for some of the world’s most well known brands including Apple, Nike, Hewlett Packard, Pepsi, Church’s Chicken, Lyft, PopSockets, Quiznos, T-Mobile, Walmart, and many, many more.

Currently, Sonya leads creative work for a host of clients at Kettle, a digital-first content and creative agency based in NYC. Prior to her time at Kettle, Sonya spent several years as Associate Creative Director at PopSockets, where she helped transform the brand, writing, directing, shooting, and producing film and photo content for PopSockets’ always-on digital channels. Before that, she cut her creative teeth at Made Movement, a small ad shop nestled in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado and led by advertising legends Alex Bogusky and Dave Schiff.

Most recently, after developing an interest in creating relatable BIPOC-centered stories, Sonya added narrative filmmaking to her creative repertoire. In 2022, she wrote and directed her first narrative short, titled Under the Influence, featuring Palestinian actor and comedian Rami Abushhab. It is currently in final stages of post-production.

When not writing or directing, Sonya’s telling stories through East is West, the lifestyle clothing brand she launched to represent diverse and unique experiences through a BIPOC, decolonialized POV.

More than anything, Sonya is obsessed with conveying the human experience in every way possible. She especially loves doing it with likeminded creatives and is always up for collaboration. To chat directly, send her a note at sonya.y.ghori@gmail.com.
